The SCM Nova F 520 is a powerful, heavy-duty 520mm (20-1/2”) jointer engineered for precision and performance in demanding woodworking environments. Built with robust cast iron tables and an adjustable tilting fence, it provides superior stability and accuracy. Equipped with the advanced Xylent helical cutterhead, it delivers an ultra-smooth finish while significantly reducing noise levels. With an expansive 108-1/4” total table length, including a 61” infeed and 47-1/4” outfeed, the Nova F 520 offers exceptional support for large workpieces. Powered by an 8 HP, 3-phase motor (220V), it delivers the strength professionals need for efficient material processing. Additional features such as a 0° to 45° tilting fence and a maximum depth of cut of 8mm (5/16”) make this jointer a top choice for workshops that demand precision, durability, and high-end results.

**The European guard and additional overturning fence attachment do not come standard on the Nova F 520. The Nova F 520 comes standard with an American guard (pictured above) and fence that meet OSHA requirements.**

Exceptional Finish with the “Xylent” Spiral Knife (3 spiral knives)

Reduced noise during machining provides a more comfortable working environment. It also improves the dust extraction due to the production of very small chips. Each cutter has 4 tips which can be rotated into the cutting position when worn. Therefore increasing the production life of the cutter block before knives require replacement.

 

Extra Long Cast Iron Tables
All SCM Jointers use aged cast iron tables that are machine polished to the highest tolerances. These castings are ribbed to ensure maximum strength and to avoid problems with the tables warping or breaking during use. The longer tables ensure board straightness. You table is over 108 inches to make sure that the workpiece will be straight every time.

Parallelogram Table Movement
All SCM Jointers incorporate a parallelogram movement of the infeed and outfeed tables. This system has the table height adjustment through a system of four cams (one per corner of support) that pivot on a radius equal to the head radius. This radius pivot ensures that the table chip breaker remains in the correct position from the head. Some manufacturers use a wedge type movement which allows the table and chip breaker to move away from the head as it is adjusted for more removal. This will allow splintering and poor quality finish.

American Cutterhead Guard
The standard guard offered on SCM Jointers is a spring-type guard which always covers the unused portion of the knife. Other European style guards require the guard to be manually moved into place when the fence is readjusted. When processing thick wood, this does not cover the blade as completely.
