KP222 - F/E Weight (Paper Backing), Aluminum Oxide, Medium Coating, Red-Brown Color for Softwood and Hardwood applications.
New, universal abrasive on paper backing, now with medium coat and additional grinding-active antistatic coating. The particularly robust and stable paper backing is especially suitable for wide and long belts.
While paper backing is the lightest and most widely used option, it is also the weakest of the backing materials used for coated abrasives. The benefit of that being that it's usually the most affordable option available. Paper products are generally ideal for flat sanding applications and will often provide the best finish. And, while paper can be somewhat flexible at lighter weights, allowing it to match the contours of a workpiece, it can also be prone to tears, making it potentially less suitable for certain applications.
KP222 achieves a long service life when processing non-conductive materials thanks to integrated antistatic fill materials. There is no need to use auxiliary materials. Abrasives with an antistatic coat are primarily used for woodworking. They prevent the build-up of electrostatic charge so that the grinding dust does not adhere to the workpiece or the machine.
